This mantel shelf is made out of a barn beam from a barn built in the late 1800's.  It is solid Pine.  It has a large crack in the top, but it is structurally fine.  This beam sat in the barn and outside for over 150 years.  It will not crack anymore.

It is a beautiful piece that people will say "Where did you get that"?
