  • This mantel is solid old growth Cedar.  It is not hollow or partical board junk.
  • This came out of a barn in Door Co., Wisconsin.  The barn was built in the 1850's.  The property is still in the family
  • At one point there was a large forest fire.  We took several barns down in that area.  Each barn had a few timbers with burnt char on them.  This is one of them.
  • 54" wide x 6.5" deep x 5.5" thick
  • Please keep in mind this piece is made from reclaimed wood, and is well over 100 years old.
  • We try to remove all the splinters and loose wood before sanding. Sometimes we cut through nails and leave them.  There are cracks, knots, worm holes, highs and lows in the wood. This piece is for the most part the way we found it when we took the barn down. It is a piece of history preserved.
